A. Friends of Woodmont Park is a 501(c)(3) charity to benefit Woodmont Park in Nashville. We leverage volunteer resources, time, and private donations to create a public-private partnership with Metro Parks and Recreation Department in order to improve one of the few public spaces in Green Hills. We are the official Friends Group working with Metropolitan Parks Department to enhance and maintain Woodmont Park.
Q. What have you accomplished?
A. In ten years of community effort, we have accomplished so much!:
--New shade pavilion and entry marker
--Parking and crosswalk enhancements on Estes.
--Trees line the walkways & provide shade - over 70 have been planted or replanted & irrigation installed
--“Big kid” playground and swings installed
--Wire fence removed and wooden fence installed and painted
--New tennis court surface and practice board installed
--Top soil delivered and spread throughout the baseball field to even the surface
--Boulders placed for play and seating
--New drinking fountain and community toy bin installed

--Benches and memorials throughout the park
--Picnic tables throughout the park
And perhaps more importantly, we have greatly enhanced community involvement and a sense of neighborliness and place in the Green Hills area of Nashville.
